World Coastal Cleanup day-2019 was celebrated by College of Fisheries Science, JAU, Veraval in collaboration with National Centre for Coastal Research (NCCR), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India, Chennai on September 21, 2019
World Coastal Cleanup day-2019 was celebrated on 21th September 2019 by College of Fisheries Science, Junagadh Agricultural University, Veraval in collaboration with National Centre for Coastal Research (NCCR), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India, Chennai under the guidance of Dr. A.Y. Desai, Dean and Principal, Dr. Jitesh B. Solanki, Chief Coordinator, International Coastal Cleanup-2019 and Dr. Pravakar Mishra, Scientist, NCCR, Chennai. On this occasion, 1 km coastal area was cleaned at Veraval Chopati and 1200 kg waste consisting plastic ropes, glass, bottle, bags, cups, shoes, buoys, nets, cloths, plastic straws, coconuts etc. were collected and destroyed. Awareness rally was also organized to keep the beach clean. Around 100 volunteers and staff members have participated in this programme. This program was successfully organized with the help of Prof. Viral C. Bajaniya, Dr. Prakash V. Parmar, Dr. Hitendrasinh L. Parmar, committee members of this event.
